Smoking Dragon Festivals is gearing up to celebrate its 15th New Year with five days of music and revelry. Over the years, this festival has become synonymous with vibrant energy, diverse musical acts, creative workshops and a commitment to providing attendees with an unforgettable experience. Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, the festival organisers have persevered, adapting to the circumstances and ensuring that the show goes on, albeit in more intimate settings over the last few years.
Smaller production companies were allowed to try their hand at managing the festival which had some interesting results. This year, however, promises a return to pre-Covid times. The original team is back at the helm paying meticulous attention to all aspects of the festival production. Expect multiple music zones, top-notch sound systems, fantastic lineups, scrumptious food and a great craft market.
Because New Year’s Eve falls on a Tuesday, the festival will open on Friday the 27th. The lodge and its VIP campsite are already filling fast as people prepare to spend quality time away from the cities – in this beautiful location where the Northern Drakensberg wraps itself around the view.
